| Looking for a reasonably priced restaurant in town with some real delicacies? Go to Bali Bali. Through the last 18 years, the restaurant has built its own regular crowd who frequently visit this family owned Indonesian restaurant and earned a deserved reputation for excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. We recommend that you put Bali Bali on your list of "must try" restaurants. |
|
| The menu is very varied and caters for all tastes, with most dishes being offered in their vegetarian variety as well as their original form. Start with a Martabak Udang and make sure you leave room for a Sambal Daging Goreng. Alternatively, if you are that hungry and it is more than one of you, go for one of the house speiciality set menus such as Special Rijstafel, a selection of 8 dishes for £17.00 per person. What more, if you dont like any of the suggestions, you can change it for another item on the menu. This is a fairly small resturant and can only host a mxmimum of 48 diners. Given its popularity, the bookings are highly recommended, specially on weekends. |

| As with all serious restaurants, this starts with the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Although the flavourings and spices are authentic, a very few of the ingredients are sourced locally, in order to ensure the spirit of the cuisine is maintained. The restaurant offers a variety of set menus to suit different tastes and occasions, and is flexible in matching the selection to your taste. In addition to the normal menu the restaurant also features a special daily menu that changes frequently.

| Many people, when asked to describe Indonesian food, will say, "It's a cross between Indian and Chinese." A bit like saying that a tiger is a cross between a cat and a zebra. All tastes are catered for: carnivores, vegetarians, piscetarians - some grilled, some fried, some gently stewed. And all delicious. |

| Malaysian |
| OK, so some of the food is hot - but that's a legacy of the Europeans (bringing chillies from south America). Like most cuisines, Indonesian has many influences - yes, Chinese and Indian, but also Dutch, Malay, Portugese, middle eastern... and even a little English, if you look close enough.
