| The philosophy here, in the words of its creator, is refined simplicity. This is the true essence of the French brasserie in its purest form. Albert Roux has gone to great lengths to find the best ingredients sourced from some of the UK and France’s leading suppliers. The menu changes on a daily basis to reflect the best seasonal produce from both countries. The menus are very reasonably priced and include some real bargains such as the pre-theatre set menu. |

| Albert Henri Roux was 14 when he began his first apprenticeship. After years of experience, including two years at the French Embassy of London, he opened his first restaurant Le Gavroche with his brother Michel in 1967, followed by Waterside Inn (among others). Both have been awarded the highest culinary distinctions, and the brothers hold countless honours awards: Maître Cuisinier de FRANCE and just last September, La Légion d’Honneur. In 2002, Albert Roux launched the Brasserie Roux in the handsome Five Star Sofitel St James Hotel in the old headquarters of Cox’s and King’s Bank, in the heart of London’s most prodigious and historic district.
The designer, Pierre-Yves Rochon, has created an elegant atmosphere with buttercup yellow walls and contemporary furniture upholstered in dark green and red. Three 15ft arched windows overlook Pall Mall and Waterloo Place and help create a stunningly spacious yet refined area in which to enjoy honest brasserie cuisine created by one of the world’s most famous che |
