| Cafe Zia is the latest project from renowned restaurateur and executive chef Manju Choudhury, who in partnership with his brother has created this modern and informal restaurant in the heart of the Battersea. The creative menu is a collaboration between Manju and head chef G.P.Gurung (Jai) who joins Cafe Zia after ten years as head chef at the original branch of Bombay Bicycle Club in Queens Town Road Battersea. |
| Manju is an award winning chef and the food here is a witness to that fact. Described as “unusually good” by Fay Maschler in Evening Standard, the food has built Café Zia a fan club in a very short time. Joining the fan club is easy, just try the Zinga Nawabi (Tiger king prawns, spiced and cooked in the tandoor) and follow it with Yanam Gosht (lamb slowly cooked with spices, herbs and green pepper) and you will leave yourself no choice but to join the club. |
| Manju is the creator of the world’s biggest onion bhaji, recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. He cooked a 62kg bhaji (and that is some bhaji) in an effort to raise money for the charity. The bhajis served as starter are smaller. |
| Cafe Zia offers a quick and efficient take away service which is completely free in a four mile radius of the restaurant. It also provides a private catering service for parties ranging from a private dinner for ten to a large celebration with five hundred guests. |

| The menu is varied and well laid out with a good selection of meat, vegetarian and fish dishes from different regions of the sub-continent. The limited but good choice of fish and seafood in Café zia contrasts the lack of attention given to seafood in many other Indian restaurants. Try the Goan Lobster for an exceptional experience. There is also an extensive dessert menu featuring modern as well as traditional desserts such as Gulab Jamun and Gajar Ka Halwa. |
