I arrived at around 6.30 - the restuarant was empty and the big TV screen was going full blast. On asking if it could be turned down, I was told no but we could sit further back in an area near the conservatory - the door to which was open and it was quite chilly. My friend had a coffee, nothing wrong with that but I asked for a tonic water and was presented with a tin to open myself along with a rather dirty glass. The service was quite poor although we were the only people there.
I am dissapointed that this restuarant has slipped, particular with the evening meals. I took a friend with me and we ordered a "home made steak and kidney pie" and a duck dish. The steak and kidney pie was just a mess with what looked like dog food and an excuse for a pie topping - puff pastry stuck on top. I understood a pie was made with two parts, top and bottom. The dish was obviously zapped in a microwave and the gravy was a dark brown mess. The vegetables were a joke. Again, obviously microwaved almost to extinction and the serving was supposed to feed both of us, not great eaters but we certainly would expect a bigger portion.
I know that the owner is not there in the evenings and perhaps she should be. The staff are not particularly attentive. We waited quite a long time to pay our bill - in the end going to the counter to do so. I would also say that the waitress has little understanding of the English language!
I believe Greedies do a good day time trade and are not too bothered by their evening trade. I know that they close early.
I work at a local hospital and have taken many of my friends to this restuarant but will not do so in future - a shame because it used to have such a good service.

The food at Greedies is amazing! The service and staff are extremely rude and very unaccomodating. The last time I was there I was pregnant and ordered breakfast. As pregnant women are advised not to eat runny eggs I asked for my eggs well done or scrambled and was told I would have to pay 1 extra for this....are you kidding?

I went to this restaurant for mothers day and it was fabulous. We had a set menu which was great value for money.
All the staff were very helpful, friendly and the food was excellent.
It was my first visit and I will be returning very soon. Thank you

A few months ago a group of 15+ friends booked an evening meal at Greedies on a Friday night. The staff were wonderful, pleasant and attentive. The food was the best I had had in a long time. A colleague has since taken her husband for a meal there and I will be booking my 60th birthday. I would certainly recommend Greedies.

I booked for my Mother's 70th Birthday a table for eight at 1 o'clock yesterday (3/12). They had no record of my booking, which was very embarrassing but they managed to find us a table.
The food was excellent and we all thoroughly enjoyed it but the service was appalling. The non-English speaking waitresses (especially one) were rude and belligerent. We asked for some drinks five times until eventually one of our party went to the local shop to get some. The bill was incorrect and when we questioned it, we were met with more scorn.
I appreciate that the place was packed out and as I said, the food was gorgeous but I think more English speaking waiting staff are badly needed.
