What Critics Say
Fay Maschler - Evening StandardMar 29 2006
When the food arrived, it was unusually good. My daughter-in-law Jane said she liked the distinctive flavours as opposed to everything dissolving into a samey blur. Stars of our quite large order from the long menu were a seafood starter called zinga ratan - tandoori-cooked king prawns in a creamy, garlicky sauce - prawn puri, chicken jalfrezi, tender, slow-cooked mirchwala lamb shank and the vegetable dish of bhindi (okra, or ladies' fingers). The Iamb shank should certainly not be missed. The decor of Cafe Zia is as formally old-fashioned as the uniform of the waiters. You might think the restaurant had been there for ever, but the food doesn't taste that way. Welcome back Manju.

Glorious food on each of our 3 visits so far, good luck with the Wandsworth Road initiative. Please stay here and enrich our local community.

Indian meal with a difference. No run of the mill curries. Specialities are special. Service is great and atmosphere relaxing. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best food I have tasted in my 40 years of eating Indian food, superb! Was nice food, thank you! We will be seeing you again soon.
